Sarah Casilli was the first place female finisher in the New Balance Heart Break Hill 5K Run & Walk to benefit Franciscan Hospital for Children, which raised over $90,000.

Urban Edge CEO Chrystal Kornegay was selected for NeighborWorks Achieving Excellence in Community Development Program in collaboration with Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.

Maria Patrone was awarded a Commisioner's Commendation for her work in the community and brave efforts during a life-or-death incident.

Officers Carl Shorter, Angela Williams-Mitchell and Lylana Jones-Henderson have all received Commissioner's Commendations because of their quick response and rapid apprehension of two dangerous and armed criminals in late May.

Gabe Cohen, Ben Cohen, Eric Mearns, Glen Harnish and Michael Venier will cycle in the eight annual Tri- State Trek to raise funds and awareness for ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) research.

Mitchell Tunick and his son, Perry Hatchfield, took a 1,000 mile bike ride up the east coast to raise money for the Animal Rescue League of Boston.

Maya Ginga has graduated from Brimmer and May School

Luciano Avila, Juan A. Diaz, Daniel Diaz, Luis E. Figueroa, Luis Fulcar, Victor Hernandez, Jose Lopez, Herber mazariegos, Yeuris Mejia, Victor More, Roberto Perez and Reuben Soto are the first graduating class of the Latino Fathers Group at the Jamaica Plain Head Start School.

Murray Hershkowitz, Aleah Stewart-Souris and David Thomas have graduated from Beaver Country Day School.

Jonathan Scott, President and CEO of Victory Programs, accepted the Cornerstone Award from Mass Housing and Shelter Alliance for VP's work in the Housing First movement.

Susan Bethoney, from John D. Philbrick Elementary, along with Boston Latin School, will be honored by Green Schools with its annual "Green Difference Awards".

Nora Hexter, from Boston Latin School, is a winner in this year's Letters about Literature program.

Pam Knight was named a 2010 Community MVP and was awarded $2,500 for her organization by the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation and the Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund for her work with HopeFound.
