Cop car hits baby

A 1-year-old infant in a stroller was hit by a police car in the Centre Street/Seaverns Avenue crosswalk during the Aug. 7 First Thursday art event, according to the Boston Police Department.

The baby reportedly received minor injuries.

Police cars have been involved in 11 accidents this year in Jamaica Plain, according to incident reports from the local E-13 Police Station.

In May, a drag racer hit a pedestrian on Hyde Park Avenue in Forest Hills, maiming her. Last month, a man was charged with motor vehicle homicide for allegedly hitting and killing a pedestrian on Washington Street in Egleston Square.
